How is Jingle Bells racist? Can we cancel Joy Reid for racism and being ugly? I looked at the full lyrics on Ririro.com just in case I missed something in my memory of the song. The full song has 4 verses, 2 of which I never heard before, and the chorus. Nowhere in the entire song is there ANYTHING remotely close to being racist unless she/he’s complaining about the snow being white. She/he will want to ban snow pretty soon. We need to ban racist remarks about racism because it’s racist. Pretty stupid, huh? This racist everything rhetoric is way beyond getting old. I know I’m sick and tired of hearing and reading it daily. It’s an assault to the ears and the eyes.
Something to do with putting bells on runaway slaves and parading them around to show they had been caught. At least that was what I remember reading about this topic a few years ago.
But I don’t think there is any evidence to show that this was true and even if it is, how is it linked to Jingle Bells? The last I heard is that it was debunked. I guess Joy didn’t get the memo.
For what it is worth, even if it is true, I doubt that toddlers are being racist or that they are being taught to be racist when they insist on singing Jingle Bells over and over; every parent out there knows it is their favorite Christmas carol.
Oh and I am all for banning snow, please start with my driveway – just sayin’.
Grammy Leslie, 👍 Excellently written! I truly believe Joy Reid doesn’t like anything that has the word white in it. Everyone is born the way God wanted us to be, so I guess since she has a problem with that she should address it to him!
I’ve seen a person such a disgrace to there race as Joe Reid. Black people are embarrassed by her & can’t stand her. And rightly so. Her IQ is so small it makes people wonder why any one would employe her. I don’t guess she has anyone in her family to step in and stop her from making such a fool of herself. She needs help but there is nothing man can do. You can’t fix stupid.
The only “joy” associated with this woman is going to be when she kicks the bucket.
