Part of Illinois’s problem is the fact that no governor lives in the Governor Mansion or anywhere near the capital city of Springfield. They live and control the whole state from their perch in Chicago. Chicago, it’s suburbs and the Quad Cities (that still has a 70’s mindset) are the only Democratic areas in Illinois, but the rest of the state is at their mercy. Governors should be honor bound to live most of the year in the Gov. Mansion and the capital city. If they don’t like it by not being around their criminal friends, accountancies and crooked business partners, then do not run for governor.
