I believe that the United States has some accountability for having open borders and other lax policies that have allowed the flood of nondocumented individuals. That accountability should be in the form of vetting individuals who have contributed to communities, not separating families, etc. I know that is not a popular stance and I understand the push back about the law being the law, but I believe there is a middle ground and that fair is fair. Self-deportation satisfies some of this, but I still think the middle ground should be wider and that America should acknowledge its mistakes, even if it was the other party who perpetuated it.
