Here in Australia, there is no pressure from parents to go to college, its an individual choice, plus this young bloke sounds brainwashed.

I agree with Charlie about 80% on education. My degree and college experience have served me very well. BUT…I have an IT degree. And as I was typing this up, Charlie just said….”of course if you going for a trade then go! But most students are going for Humanities!” So I guess we agree 100 percent!

  1. What really got me is the Charlie even got the brainwashed fool to agree with him on many points. Two lies college always say to potential students (suckers) is that college grads always make more money and job placement programs. As Charlie did say, if a person goes to college to be a doctor or some type of specialized occupation that REQUIRES several years of college do make more money, but they also have mega debt for the first 10 years, or more, after graduation. Most occupations a person can get a good job with apprenticeships or trade schools and there are MANY opportunities in today’s job markets. Over the last fews years a survey was taken about college grads from a local 4 year college to see what jobs they got when out of college. Sacking groceries and bartenders and fast food workers. Don’t need a college degree for those jobs. The so-called job placement offered by colleges is also a joke. All they do is send a grad to various places to APPLY for a job, there’s no guarantee they’ll get hired. Another thing about being a college grad is that IF the grad does get a job in their field of study, most of those jobs apy salary. That’s Okay when there’s less than 40 hours a week, but most of the time those grads get paid for 40 hours but work 50 hours or more a week. An hourly employee gets paid for every hour they work and 99% of hourly jobs pay more when a person goes over 40 hours. Then there’s the scam of being forced to take unrelated classes and getting a degree where there’s NO job opportunities at all. College, for the most part, is nothing more than advanced high school.
