Besides having lots of money, powerful friends, power over powerful friends, celebrity status, etc., I’m sure he just became depressed in prison and decided he had absolutely NO way getting out of the situation. I’m certain he knew that EVERYONE who breaks the law eventually serves a full sentence. Therefore suicide was his only choice. Makes perfect sense.
