I laugh at John Oliver saying that it is “very weird to be focused on this issue” because it is completely weird that the left has been so obsessed with pronouns to the point that they refuse to acknowledge the permanent harm done to trans kids because of so-called gender affirming care. That is so heartbreaking when you consider how confused these kids already are. Yes, they need acceptance but for heaven’s sake, leave their hearts and minds and especially their junk alone!
Getting back to the hypocrisy of Oliver’s observation, everything the left accuses conservatives of is always more true about them. I am loath to use words like “always” or “everything” but I have yet to see an exception. They are the consummate example of the old saying that when you point a blaming finger at someone, there are four more pointing right back to you. It’s called projection and it’s a very juvenile and egocentric cognitive distortion that we are supposed to outgrow when our brains are mature enough to develop abstract thought.
